Our work with Slow Dough Bread Co. spans the full breadth of our services and is one of the projects we are most proud of. Slow Dough produces the finest bread you've ever tasted. There is no comparison. Serving many of the best restaurants in the south as well as providing high quality packaged bread in Whole Foods and other grocery stores, you've likely gotten a taste of their bread baked with passion and five generations of experience. We have been lucky enough to work with Slow Dough on their rebranding, packaging, photography, print material, web design, and web development. It's always a source of pride to see the Slow Dough trucks delivering fresh baked bread throughout the Houston and Austin area.
When we set out to create packaging we knew that we wanted to stand out in a crowded market, show the bread in all its glory, and have a unique but cohesive color palette that represented the brand and the product. If you've ever stood in front of the bread aisle at your local grocery store you've seen the wall of options. Slow Dough has a vibe unlike any other. Creating packaging that draws you in and captures the vibe while also navigating the world of grocery and food requirements isn't always easy. We researched many different packaging options and talked with quite a few printers to get it just right. All of that effort really shines and we are very proud of the end result.
If you're in the Houston or Austin area you've probably already seen these beautiful trucks on the road delivering fresh baked bread. Every morning Slow Dough sends out a fleet of delivery trucks to their customers and we knew they needed to have that special Slow Dough vibe. If you're lucky enough to be in front of one of the trucks, check your rear view mirror for some "Damn good bread". We designed, managed the printing, and even applied the vinyl to many of their vehicles. It's always a sense of pride when we see the trucks on the road. Keep an eye out, they're hard to miss!
Slow Dough does everything with passion, experience, and that bit of extra care that makes them unique. Over many different photo sessions we were able to successfully capture their bread, their process, and their extraordinary staff. Bread photography (and food photography in general) can be a tricky subject to shoot. Elements of the bread like color, bake, rise, and flour are all extremely important to the trained eyes of the baker. We worked with owner and head baker, Heath Wendell, to ensure that each photo was perfect in composition and color.
Slow Dough's rise to success (see what I did there?) is due to their dedication to the craft and a strong passion for quality. We knew that portraying their own uniquely "Slow Dough" vibe, providing their customers with easy access to their breads, contact information, and story. As with any product created with love, passion, and expertise, so much of what makes Slow Dough unique lives in their story. With the help of the Slow Dough team we were able to design and devlope a site that both tells a story while being easy to navigate for brand new customers and the most loyal of followers.
We aren't kidding... we built this for ourselves. We wanted the easiest way to find locations where we could buy Slow Dough bread. It's that good. Users can enter their zip code for easy map access to the closest grocery store carrying Slow Dough bread. Get a map overview or dive into a list view that's been filtered by your zip code. We knew that for a bakery with such a loyal following, finding specific locations would be important. Part of that meant making it as easy as possible for customer to locate where they can buy their favorite bread.
